Every second counts:

Time is always limited when you are studying. Therefore it is so important to squeeze as much into your day as possible. There are so many ways to get more out of your time. You can apply this principle to every area of your life, not just when you are studying.

Efficiency:

Always try to think of the fastest way to get everything done. For example if you go to the library make sure you get everything you need in one trip. You don't want to waste time going back and forth several times.

Fast and effective research:

Sometimes it can be hard to know where to start when researching. If you find yourself in this position ask someone. That is what the teachers/lecturers are there for to point you in the right direction.

Research generally begins in the library. Planning is one of the best studying techniques for saving time. Make a plan before you start looking for anything. This will help you conduct a fast and systematic search of the library.

Try to save time in your day to day life:

There are loads of ways to save time here and there during the day. For example if you are cooking for yourself make two or three portions. Then you can freeze some of it and keep it for another night. It doesn’t matter if it's only a small amount of time you save, it all adds up.

To give you another example if you spend two hours a week food shopping try doing it online. After the first time you can reorder the same items again with one click. An extra two or three hours a week is a big time saving when you’re studying.

Procrastination:

Putting work off till the last minute can be a big problem for some people. However you may still procrastinate here and there even if you are good at getting stuck into your work.

For example if you find yourself daydreaming or looking at Facebook when working you are losing small amounts of time. If you add up all the time you spend on distractions it probably comes to a good chunk. Save things like Facebook for your breaks.

Relaxing:

Remember relaxing is very important for getting the most out of your time. When you relax you recharge your batteries. This makes the time you spend studying more focused and affective.

Conclusion:

These time management studying techniques will help you to squeeze extra time out of your day. You always need to be thinking about time. The more time you have the more you can get done.
